Dad's Treadle Coffin Tops and Cases

My Dad's Treadle Coffin Tops and Cases

These are miscellaneous treadle coffin tops and machine cases.

Below is a Standard treadle coffin top.  This is from approximately 1900 to 1910.

Below is a Wheeler and Wilson treadle coffin top.  This is from approximately 1910 to 1920.

Below is a 3/4 size Singer bentwood case from between 1910 and 1920.  Bentwood cases were the portable cases for many of the Singer models, if not all of the portable machines.  The three-quarter size case would be for a Singer 99 or a Singer 128 machine.  This case is very similar to the case on my grandmother's machine, with the exception of the controller.  These cases have a knee bar controller, and part of the controller is in the case to the right of the hand wheel area of the machine.  According to my father's research, only 2500 controllers of the type shown below were made.
