1918 White Treadle
This is a White Treadle with a Family Rotary machine head. This one is housed in a cabinet in very nice condition. The older White cabinets are sought after, and although this is not a "Twig" style cabinet, the ornate carving on the drawers is very elegant, and this is the type that the machine head lifts up out of by itself when the cabinet is opened. The photos below show the cabinet and head- please note the small area on the left side of the drawer rack that is missing the molding, and one of the drawers has a small area of the raised carving that is missing. The machine head close-up was taken when the machine was out of the cabinet to be oiled. The head shows some decal wear on the bed from use, but it turns over smoothly, and with the addition of a treadle belt (missing, but easily purchased separately) will make a very nice machine. Machines such as this White are an example of our American sewing heritage.
