This chart is a counted cross stitch chart that I have designed to be reminiscent of penmanship practice tablets from early grade school. This is not a sampler of different stitch types, but rather a sampler of design elements that represent family and learning.  I designed this piece specifically to be stitched in DMC brand's Linen Floss.  The pattern requires just one color of floss, DMC's Linen Floss in the color number 902, "Dark Garnet".  The text at the bottom " In Deus Nos Fides" is "In God We Trust" in Latin.

I recommend this chart for the average-skilled needle worker.

The grid is sized at 14 stitches per inch, with a finished design size of 12.5 inches wide by 9.64 inches tall. The stitch count is 175 wide x 135 high. If you wish a different finished size, follow the chart for stitch placement, but use a different stitch count fabric.

 DMC embroidery floss is what I recommend to complete this chart.  Recommended colors are included with this chart.  The chart is in full color with symbols printed over the color blocks, and prints at 10 squares per inch for ease of reading.
