Simply Art © Needlepoint Canvases are each original and hand-painted by me. I use high-quality canvas and professional-quality paints. These are a continuation of my many years as a visual artist, and a wonderful way to "utilize" art. Needlepoint, itself an art, can be transformed into pillows, chair covers, bags, hanging tapestries, the list is quite long. I offer small pieces, ranging in size up to 16" x 16". I offer canvases in my exclusive design of the "Simply Art (c) Needlepoint Canvas Cranberry Plant", as well as other designs with varying subjects. I list each piece here as they are available. Canvases that I have available will change from time to time, such as at some times I will have brick covers available, at some times, pillow-size pieces, etc. If you don't see the specific item or size piece you are interested in today, please check back again. For those of you who didn't have a chance to purchase my pen and ink or abstract art (which I no longer do professionally), here is an opportunity to own one of my originals. To purchase any of the canvases shown below, please email me using the link at the top left of the page to ensure availability. Once in a while I also list them with my auctions, please feel free to use the "Auctions" link at the top left to see which are currently listed for immediate purchase. Pricing for each canvas is as marked. Shipping: is $4.60 for the canvas, $2.00 for each additional canvas shipped at the same time. Insurance is optional ($1.65 per box). Payment may be made by personal check or money order. Paypal is also accepted.
Simply Art© Needlepoint Canvases "Cranberry Plant"Currently AvailableAll canvases are unworked. Because I love to do needlepoint myself, I try to provide the highest quality canvas for the needleworker. As stated above, professional-quality paints are used, and although I am careful of preserving the integrity of the mesh, the paint may be thicker in some areas. When this happens, I do go back over the canvas with a small tool and push through the paint so that the stitching remains workable. I have "tested" my own canvases by soaking them in a bucket over night after painting and very little paint (if any) came off. My painted needlepoint canvases are meant to withstand frequent handling and the working of them. All designs are copyright 2008 laeom Some photos may have the canvas looking slanted - either the photo was taken at an angle or the canvas does not lie completely flat when photographing. Designs are painted along a thread line to be straight, but are not stitch-painted.
Here on Cape Cod, the cranberry plant is a native and common plant. The plant grows in "bogs" - areas that are flooded for harvesting, and our coastal environment allows this beautiful native plant to flourish. Although you may be familiar with cranberries because of their use in holiday cooking, in Christmas Tree decoration, or from cranberry juice, the flower of the cranberry plant is less often seen. It is a beautiful, simple flower, and I have chosen it as a design that represents my needlepoint. Each purchase will include the canvas and a photo of my original notecard design of the cranberry plant so that the needle worker may use it for reference.
A photocopy of my original note card design will be included with each purchase for reference.
