Pattern
This pattern is for straight, single point needle, flat-knitted ankle-height sport socks that are easy to knit in 100% cotton thread. These are wonderful, comfortable socks, for a man who prefers a low ankle-height sock. Pattern is written for a man’s size 11 foot, with a 10 inch circumference at the ball of the foot, and knit in 100% cotton thread, using two strands of size 10 crochet thread held together. Other sizes can be knitted by making a few simple adjustments to the pattern. As well, the height of the sock on the leg can be easily adjusted to result in an every-day or dress sock height. As an added bonus, the adjustments for man’s sizes 10 and 10-1/2 knit in cotton thread are included. Flat-knitted, in this pattern, means that the sock is knitted in one long, flat piece, and then the seams are sewn together. For this reason, self-striping threads that are meant to be knitted in rounds will not always have the stripes line up. The pattern is meant for solid colors, variegated threads, or socks with a contrasting color in the ribbing.
