Simply Art (c) Simply Basic Socks (c) Spin Kits are kits that allow you to spin your own fingering weight wool and knit your own pair of socks. Each kit includes all that you need to make one pair of socks. These kits are priced according to the cost of the materials - once purchased, and with your own additional fiber purchases, unlimited pairs of socks can be made.

Knitting / Wool Kits: The sock pattern is my own Simply Basic Socks (c) Knitting Pattern, and the hand spindle is one of my Simply Art (c) Hand Spindles. Basic knitting and hand-spinning skills are required to complete each kit. Each pattern is written for women's sizes. The patterns are in Adobe "pdf" document form, and are on CD, which enables you to print the pattern on your own computer. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the "pdf" files, a free download here. In previous years, I offered my kits with printed patterns, but feel that the CDs enable you to have a more permanent copy of the pattern.
For basic hand-spinning instructions, a copy of my page Spinning Merino Wool With A Hand Spindle is included on the CD. These instructions will also work for any fiber.
In the Basic Spin Kit, I include 100% Corriedale wool fiber, in the form of roving. Corriedale is a wool fiber that is easy to spin to fingering weight, which is the weight of yarn for the sock pattern.
The spindle included will be one of my hand-painted originals, chosen by me randomly at time of shipping. If you have a preference for the spindle, please see my Simply Art (c) Hand Spindles page, and make sure to include a note of your spindle number request with your payment. Only those spindles that are not marked "sold" are available, as each is a one-of-a-kind item.

Shipping for each kit is $ 5.85. A 5.7% sales tax is also added to your order. If you receive a notice stating the kit is sold out, please email for earliest availability. All documents included are on a CD in Adobe "pdf" format.
