This pattern is for a basic knitted tote bag pattern. It is an easy-to-knit pattern and the finished tote bag is both functional and stylish. By choosing your own yarn colors, you may make the bag in your own preferred style of color, from traditional to bright. The bag is knit using bulky-weight yarns and single-point needles, with crocheted handles for strength, and it is a fast project to complete.
The finished bag size is 10 inches wide, 9 inches tall, and 2-1/2 inches deep. The handles are 9 inches long when held extended above the bag. A great bag for the beach, for shopping, for an ample-sized purse, an excellent knitting bag, or even a bag for children to hold their toys or other items. Materials required to complete the pattern: Size 8 single-point needles Size 10 single-point needles Size J crochet hook to make handles. Bulky-weight yarn, 12 ounces total (worsted-weight yarn held two strands together may also be used) Colors: Color #1 – Ribbing color – 3 ounces Color #2 – Main bag color – 8 ounces Color # 3 – Jute Twine (worsted-weight, held two strands together) – 1 ounce Darning needle
Stitch knowledge required: Knit, purl, cast on using a slip stitch, binding off Chain stitch, single crochet stitch (sc), double-crochet stitch (dc)
